Kirtan & Mantra Chanting

Looking forward to an evening of mantra chanting and Kirtan at Sahara studio!

This evening will involve the chanting mantras such as Om and the Gayatri Mantra. Later we will sing some kirtans accompanied by a harmonium and guitar.

Kirtans are chants that use simple melodies that involve the repetition of various names of the divine and is a form of devotional chanting with its roots going back many centuries in India. The call-and-response singing is accompanied by musical instruments and rhythmic drumming.

This practice is particularly dear to me and awakens feelings of bliss, devotion, and connection to the divine. This practice is also purifying and healing for the body and mind.

A little about me: I have been sharing and leading kirtans for several years and have spent considerable time over the last few decades visiting ashrams in India and connecting to and learning both devotional singing and Vedic chanting.

I look forward to an evening where we raise our vibrations and open our hearts through singing and chanting.

Feel free to bring a percussion instrument if you are confident in accompanying singing and chanting.

Suggested donation for the evening will be £8 or £5. Feel free to get in touch if you really want to be there and cannot afford.

Doors will shut by 7:20 pm so please be on time.
