Kirtan & Mantra Chanting

Looking forward to an evening of mantra chanting and Kirtan at Sahara studio!

This evening will involve the chanting Vedic mantras such as the Gayatri Mantra. Later we will sing some kirtans accompanied by a harmonium and guitar.

Kirtans are chants that use simple melodies that involve singing the names of the divine with its roots going back many centuries in India. Kirtan is a devotional practise that invokes the presence of the divine and awakens feelings of bliss, love and stillness. This practice raises consciousness and is energising, purifying and healing for the body and mind.

I have been sharing and leading kirtans for several years and have spent time over the last few decades visiting ashrams in India and learning both devotional singing and Vedic chanting.

I look forward to an evening where we raise our vibrations and open our hearts through singing and chanting.

Feel free to bring a percussion instrument if you are confident in accompanying singing.

Suggested donation for the evening will be £8 or £5 (concession). Feel free to get in touch if you really want to be there and cannot afford.
