Amethyst is a highly popular variety of crystalline quartz appreciated timelessly in jewellery, personal adornments and amulet form. It ranges from pale lilac to deep purple.

Historically, it was believed to prevent intoxication and today this semi-precious gemstone is often referred to spiritually as the “stone of intuition” symbolising sixth sense, tranquillity and balance. It is also often associated with clarity and calmness.

Considered an energetic multiplier, whatever the intention, amethyst will enhance it. It’s therefore often combined with other crystals to “call in” and enhance specific energies and intentions. 

Lindsey reckons amethyst is a gateway crystal, opening opportunities and often forming the beginnings of many a crystal collection.
