Shake up your dance routines and wake up your peers with these lovely high grade practice finger cymbals in silver alloy metal. Sound with an elegant tone.

Accompanying dance and drums with finger cymbals dates back over 6,000 years to Ancient Egypt, where performers used early wooden or bone clappers known as crotala during mourning processions and religious rituals. By the Bronze Age, these evolved into small metal cymbals, and similar instruments were embraced by dancers across Ancient Greece and Rome for temple ceremonies and public festivities.

  • Middle Eastern Origins: In the Middle East and North Africa, the finger cymbals are known as sagat (in Arabic) or zills (in Turkish). They are heavily tied to folk dances, weddings, and traditional rituals.
  • Ghawazi Dancers: The use of zills in modern Middle Eastern dance is famously preserved by the Ghawazi, a hereditary line of Egyptian dancers.
